Once upon a long ago, a wonderful way from here;
There lived a frog....an ugly frog,
With warts from ear to ear.

He really was horrendous, grotesque as he could be.
But even more strange, he must have been deranged!
He said he was royalty!

"I'm not a frog," he cried. "I'm a prince just under a spell.
"I need a kiss from a pretty miss,
And all will be just swell."

But maidens are few and far between, who'll kiss a frog for fun.
Sure, they'll take a chance looking for romance,
But when it comes to warts they'll run.

But one day it happened, one happened his way!
She was a pretty lass, in pink Adidas.
She was out for a run that day.

"What an ugly frog you are", she said when she saw him sitting there.
"You must be a toad", she began to goad.
"Don't say that", said the frog, "it's not fair!"

"I'm really not a frog at all, I'm a strong young prince, you'll see.
But I've had to wait for a pretty date
To kiss me and set me free."

"What!" she said. "Me. Kiss you! You've got to be out of your mind!
I'm not the sort who likes kissing warts;
No...I'm not the frog-kissing kind."

"But I'm not a frog", he croaked, "please give it a go.
I'm at the end of my rope, you're my only hope."
As he spoke, tears began to flow.

You could see she began to soften; love and care were in her eyes.
So the pretty miss gave the frog a big kiss,
Then stood back and to her surprise.....

There was a flash of light and a puff of smoke and she saw the frog disappear.
And in his place....was a prince with a face
Filled with warts from ear to ear!!!

She squealed a bit. Then she squealed some more, and decided to split the scene.
He stood there dejected, feeling very rejected.
And even a little green.

I guess we've all felt as though we've been rejected at some time, haven't we? I know I have. One of the basic human needs is to be accepted and, yet, a lack of acceptance is one of the most common human experiences.

Modern society rates people according to things like appearance, abilities, position, possessions and so on. And, just because we may not rate highly in those things, we are often not accepted, and even made to feel inferior.

Because of this, many people believe themselves to be worthless.

Well, I've got some good news for you!
You are not worthless! Your true value is not determined by the world's "rating" system...it's determined by God. And He certainly doesn't think you are worthless. But don't just take my word for it...take His. Check out John 3:16 to see what God thinks of you, and me, and all of us.

No, we're not worthless.....but we ARE unworthy.
We do wrong things. We sin. We fall and we fail....again and again.
And you might think that would make a difference even to how God sees you, right?
Well, yes and no.

God doesn't like our sin, not one bit.
But it doesn't change His love for us. In fact, Romans 5:8 says that "God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!"

Wow!

That's what I call real love and acceptance.
Unlike some people, God doesn't reject us.
You know, it doesn't matter if you're a frogly prince, or a princely frog...Jesus Christ accepts you. Warts and all.

Have you accepted Him?
